Dr. Isabel Prof. Pedraza is now the first Mexican women, working in a Mexican institution, to hold a management appointment in one of the biggest scientific collaboration in the world, the CMS (Compact Muon Solenoide) collaboration of the LHC (Large Hadron Collider) at CERN (Erupean Organization for Nuclear Research). SheThere she coordinates the Research and &Development (R&D) activities for the new muon detection technologies where 21 institutions from 11 countries are involved. Isabel PedrazaShe leads the efforts towards enhancing supercomputing and big data capabilities in Mexico as a member of the Academic and Technical Committee (CTA) of the Mexican National Supercomputing Network (RedMexSu). She is also part of the CTA of one of the biggest supercomputing laboratories in Mexico the National Supercomputing Laboratory of the Southwest (LNS). She has beenwas selected to be one of the 30 scientists under 40 that are doing promising work in the area of particle physics and neuroscience by the Chilean magazine Qué Pasa and LatinAmericanScience.org in 2014. She is currently a Professor of the Faculty of Physics and Mathematics of the Meritorious Autonomous University of Puebla (MUAP), Mexico, and leads the research carried by the group from BUAPMUAP within the CMS Collaboration.
